Advanced Leave Management: ADAAA, FMLA and OFCCP Compliance

Complying with the ADAAA and FMLA can present logistical and legal challenges for employers. How do you comply with the law and still run an effective business? This program will highlight the latest changes and trends in the legal landscape. We will address the challenges created when an employee presents with a medical condition that requires accomodation or a leave of absence and provide practical solutions for effective compliance.

After a nearly 2 year wait, the U.S. Department of Labor has issued new "final" regulations for Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance. Act. These new regulations establish a nationwide 7% utilization goal for qualified individuals with disablities and require federal contractors and subcontractors to collect and analyze data concerning the disability and veteran status of its applicants and employees. The regulations also provide accommodation guidance and "best practices" from which a practical effect may be applicable to all employers. We will discuss the impact of these regulations on all employers and the required steps to comply.

The featured speakers will be: Katharine C. Weber and Patricia Pryor, both Partners from the national workplace law firm of Jackson Lewis LLP.
